Yes, you must be looking at the date the last entry was added. Sure, It's been a while. But, believe it or not, I've been so busy these months. Still, I managed to spare some time for the project from time to time. And I'm almost ready to upload the first release for the engine (you can always check out the svn repository). Or at least, I was ready until yesterday's evening...
Have you heard of Unity engine? It's a great commercial framework for game developing. It has become compatible with Windows recently, since version 2.5. So, I downloaded the trial version and installed it. And, wow, am I impressed. The 3 things that shocked me the most were asset management, interface usability, and object-component system. But there's a whole more lot to it, I really think you should try the engine if you haven't yet.
Trying Unity was both good and bad: good, because I can now learn from a real life application how a nice editor is supposed to be built; and bad, really bad, because now I know how misguided my project's design is...
So, the question is, what should I do now? Throw all my progress away, or refactor most of it? I'm not 100% sure wether my project will be useable. And I feel a strong urge to make lots of changes. Yeah, that's totally me.
Anyways, wish me luck. I'll keep working... in the shadows.
